PREPARATION AND USE OF ALKYLATING AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions and methods to rapidly and efficiently alkylate target compounds, which may be used for the synthesis or modification of radiopharmaceuticals.SOLUTION: The methods includes: synthesizing an alkylating agent having X-(CRR)CRR-LG, wherein a is an integer from 0 to 3, R, R, R, and Rare independently H, X, or alkyl, X is a halogen, or a label, but at least one X is a halogen, and LG is a leaving group; reacting the alkylating agent with the target compounds under the conditions suitable for the alkylation of the target compounds containing an alkylation moiety. The synthesis of the alkylation agent occurs in a temperature of about 40°C to less than 80°C.
