Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize damage to a nuclear reactor building due to an earthquake or a seismic sea wave, prevent a nuclear accident by sprinkling water over a nuclear reactor from the upper part of the building to cool the reactor, and avoid diffusion of radioactive matter to the outside.SOLUTION: A nuclear reactor building has a shape of a cylinder and is built under the ground. The upper part of the building has a cooling-water storage pool and the lower part of the building has an area for a reactor container to be installed. The cooling-water storage pool is integrated with the area for a reactor container. As a result, damage due to an earthquake or a seismic sea wave is minimized. Even when a power source or a facility of the building is out of order caused by damage due to an accident or other incidents, providing the cooling-water storage pool in the upper part of the nuclear reactor building enables the supply of cooling water by utilizing the difference in height between the cooling-water storage pool of the upper part of the building and the reactor container of the lower part of the building.
