Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pure shear type energy absorption device which can be manufactured further inexpensively than before, also improves workability, is capable of simply evaluating an energy absorption mechanism, and further, can also easily deal with various dimensions.SOLUTION: A pure shear type energy absorption device 1 comprises: a steel shear panel section 3 for absorbing shear type energy; and fixing panel sections 4 and 5 integrated with the shear panel section 3 and formed in upper and lower end portions of the shear panel section, respectively. The shear panel section 3 is held between two constrained plates 6 and 7, a carbon fiber sheet 8 is wound around them, and the constrained plates 6 and 7 are fixed to the shear panel section 3, thereby constraining out-of-plane deformation of the shear panel section 3.
