Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an austenitic stainless steel tube capable of suppressing mixed grain in a crystalline structure, and capable of achieving the grain refining at the same time even when manufacturing a seamless steel tube of austenitic stainless steel containing Ti and Nb by the Erhardt push bench tube making method.SOLUTION: The ingot of austenitic stainless steel is hot-punched, and an obtained base tube is subjected to the hot-punching treatment consisting of heating and punching for a plurality of times to manufacture a seamless steel tube. When the seamless tube is manufactured, at least in the last hot-punching treatment out of the plurality of repeated hot-punching treatments, the tube to be treated is heated so that the tube is held for 1-3 hours at the temperature of the recrystallization temperature or higher. Thereafter, the tube to be treated is punched so that the section reduction ratio R to be expressed by formula (1) is ≥20%. R=(1-S2/S1)×100[%] (1), where in the formula (1), S1 denotes the sectional area of the tube to be treated before the hot punching treatment, and S2 denotes the sectional area of the tube to be treated after the hot punching treatment.
