The data generation device includes: an image acquisition unit 205 for acquiring an image to be printed on a print base material; a multiple value processing unit 208 for comparing a pixel value of each pixel in the acquired image with a predetermined luminance value to generate multiple value information having at least two values; and a print data generation unit 209 for generating as the print data height information for printing one area of the acquired image corresponding to one value in the multiple value information relatively higher than another area corresponding to another value smaller than the one value.
