IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an image forming apparatus in a small size and at a low cost while effectively suppressing accumulation of a liquid developer in a concave portion of a transfer roller.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a photoreceptor 2 which rotates and on which a latent image is formed; a developing part 5 for developing the latent image with a liquid developer containing toner and a carrier liquid; a transfer roller 9 which has a concave portion 9c and is abutted on the photoreceptor 2 to rotate and in which the image developed by the developing part 5 is transferred; and a transfer roller cleaning part 15 having a transfer roller cleaning roller 15b which is abutted on a transfer roller 9 and cleans the transfer roller 9. The transfer roller 9 is arranged adjacently on the rotating direction side to the concave portion 9c and has a noncontact part 9d which is a circumferential surface part of a diameter R2 not in contact with the photoreceptor 2.
