Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sort a plurality of kinds of particles out of a mixture of the particles smaller in specific gravity than a liquid medium by making use of their differences in specific gravity.SOLUTION: A swirl-generating device (stirrer 3) causes a whirl to a liquid medium 5 which is put in a sorting tank (water tank 1). A partition plate (tube 2) surrounds the center of the whirl which the swirl-generating device generates, and the liquid medium 5 freely comes and goes between the inside of the partition plate and the outside thereof below the partition plate. A mixture is charged into the inside of the partition plate. A recovery device (sucking nozzle 13) recovers particles, which float on the surface of the liquid medium 5, in the vicinity of the center of the swirl which the swirl-generating device generates.
