SELF-SETTLEMENT DEVICE AND SELF-SETTLEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-settlement device and a self-settlement system which are a self type such that a user makes a settlement of an article with added antitheft means, the article being prevented from being illegally carried out of a shop with high probability by giving an alarm when the article may be illegally carried out.SOLUTION: A settlement terminal 2 is configured to register an article 9 to be rented off by inserting the article 9 into an article insertion part 10 and reading a bar code 11 given to the article 9 by a bar-code reader 12, and a lock member 13 having a tag 14 inside can be detached from the article 9 to be rented off through an unlocking mechanism 15. Once settlement processing starts, each time detachment processing of the lock member 13 is carried out, a control part 16 of the settlement terminal 2 increases the number of times of execution of the detachment processing. If the settlement processing is quit without paying a rental charge, the control part 16 sends alarm information to the server 3 to place an alarm in operation on condition that the number of times of execution of the detachment processing for the lock member 13 is equal to or larger than 1.
