Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high accuracy in thickness of a connection portion 4 when producing a frame member that is in a continuous frame shape by heating glass plates 1a and 1b partially laminated and pressing them with strong power by using the pressing plates 2a and 2b for connection.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a frame member includes: partially laminating the glass plates 1a and 1b, both having the softening point Ts and glass transition temperature Tg, and being the same in thickness; heating the laminated portion of the glass plates to the level of the temperature T1; holding the laminated portion thus heated, with two pressing plates 2a and 2b, the temperature of which is T2; carrying out pressurization until the interval between the pressing plates 2a and 2b is equal to the thickness of one of the glass plates 1a and 1b; thereafter keeping still the pressing plates 2a and 2b to change the temperature of the pressing plates 2a and 2b from T2 to T3 while holding the glass plates 1a and 1b; and taking the glass plates 1a and 1b away from the pressing plates 2a and 2b, thereby joining the glass plates 1a and 1b.
