POWER CONVERSION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device that has a wide input current range and an output current range, outputs maximum power in response to variations in input current over a wide range, and is compact and inexpensive.SOLUTION: A power conversion device 100 for converting the input power input as DC power to output the output power includes: an input current detection section 2 for detecting an input current that is a current of the input power; a plurality of power conversion circuit sections 4-6 for converting the input power, which have different input current ranges and overlap with adjacent input current ranges; and a power conversion control section 1 for selecting one of the plurality of power conversion circuit sections 4-6 which can produce the highest output power from the input current detected by the input current detection section 2. In selecting one power conversion circuit section, the power conversion control section 1 controls so as to match an output voltage of the power conversion circuit section just after switching with an output voltage of the power conversion circuit section just before switching.
