ASSOCIATION OF ALTERNATIVE QUERY BEFORE COMPLETION OF RETRIEVAL QUERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternative retrieval query for a predictive retrieval query.SOLUTION: A retrieval query is received from a client node. Before an indication that the retrieval query is completely formed is received from the client node, the steps of: 1) determining the predictive retrieval query by predicting how the retrieval query is when completed; and 2) determining the alternative retrieval query different from the predictive retrieval query based upon the predictive retrieval query are taken. The alternative retrieval query is supplied to the client node. The alternative retrieval query may be such that a user retrieval query is not completed. For example, an alternative retrieval query having spelling association of "britney spears" is determined and supplied to the user in response to input of a retrieval query "brittany sp" by the user.
