PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument that can easily and sufficiently realize a simulated arpeggio by stringed instruments based on real-time performance operation of a player.SOLUTION: With this electronic musical instrument one musical sound among hold musical sounds is eliminated through the elimination control when there are a predetermined number or more of hold musical sounds. For example of the object musical sound of the elimination control, when the pitch difference between the latest produced hold musical sound and the musical sound instructed this time to produce is within a predetermined value, the latest produced hold musical sound is the object of elimination control. Therefore the arpeggio sufficiently reflecting the playing tendency and the structural character by a stringed instrument such as an acoustic guitar can be easily realized independent of the performance technique of a player.
