EMERGENCY STOP DEVICE FOR ELEVATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emergency stop device for elevators, which can always control an elevator car to be equal to or below predetermined deceleration/acceleration when breaking a descent of the elevator car at an abnormal speed.SOLUTION: The emergency stop device for elevators includes: a braking wedge 2 arranged to be raised oppositely to a guide rail 1; a braking guide 3 arranged oppositely to a slope surface on the opposite side of the braking wedge 2 to the guide rail 1 to be movably provided; and a compression spring 5 for producing the pressing force from the braking wedge 2 to the guide rail 1. The braking wedge 2 is raised to displace the compression spring 5 through the braking guide 3, and friction force is produced between the braking wedge 2 and the guide rail 1 by the pressing force corresponding to the displacement amount of the compression spring 5. A braking restraint wedge 8, which is arranged on the opposite side of the braking guide 3 to the guide rail 1, is pushed down according to the displacement of an elastic body 7 arranged between a car floor 6 and an emergency stop mechanism, and thereby the pressing force of the compression spring 5 is weakened.
