EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst which is excellent in cleaning performance while maintaining the cleaning performance even if the exhaust gas purification catalyst is exposed by high-temperature exhaust gas.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification catalyst comprises a catalyst coating layer 40 formed on the surface of a substrate 32. The catalyst coating layer 40 comprises an upper catalyst coating layer 36 in which Rh particles are supported on a porous support, and a lower catalyst coating layer 34 in which Pd particles are supported on a support that contains an ACZ composite oxide made of alumina (AlO), ceria (CeO), and zirconia (ZrO). Lowering of the oxygen storage capacity (OSC) after a durability test of the exhaust gas purification catalyst can be substantially controlled by using the ACZ composite oxide as a support of the lower catalyst coating layer (Pd catalyst layer) 34 so that the cleaning performance of the catalyst is improved.
