Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to and deformation of the teeth of a worm shaft and the teeth of a worm wheel in assembling the worm shaft and the worm wheel.SOLUTION: A speed reduction gear 10 includes: the worm shaft 16; the worm wheel 17; a first housing 36 partitioning a worm shaft receiving hole 39; and a second housing 37 partitioning a worm wheel receiving hole 39. In a condition that a part of the worm tooth forming part 26 of the worm shaft 16 with no bearing mounted on the second spindle 28 of the worm shaft 16 is displaced to a relief space 46, contact of the worm shaft 16 with the worm wheel 17 is canceled.
