Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treatment and prophylaxis of latent infection of herpes viruses in humans, including type 1 herpes simplex virus and type 2 herpes simplex virus.SOLUTION: The method for the treatment of latent infection of herpes viruses in mammals including human beings comprises administration of an effective amount of a compound of formula (A) or a bioprecursor, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, phosphate ester and/or acyl derivative of any of the substances to mammals in need of such treatment.
