ELEVATOR SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator system which can reduce a time from the stop of an operation of the elevator system to the return of the elevator system when the system returns to normal operation.SOLUTION: The elevator system 1 has an elevator car 2, a main rope 4, a control device 11, a long object vibration sensor 10, a guiding device 3, a rope restricting device 8 and a tension changing device 9. The guiding device 3 restricts the movement of the elevator car 2 in an up-and-down direction with respect to a car guide rail 12. The rope restricting device 8 restricts the movement of the main rope 4 in an up-and-down direction. The tension changing device 9 changes a state of the main rope 4 to a side which reduces rope tension generated between the elevator car 2 and the rope restricting device 8. The tension changing device 9 detects long-period vibration by the long object vibration sensor 10, and reduces the rope tension when the elevator car 2 is restricted by the guiding device 3 and the main rope 4 is restricted by the rope restricting device 8 after a hoisting machine 5 is stopped to keep operation suspended by the control device 11.
