PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator system that can perform rescue operation of an elevator after understanding the circumstances of a fire site.SOLUTION: Fire detection devices 20 installed on a plurality of parts in a building 11 have cameras 21, the presence or the absence of a person in an elevator hall 15 upon the occurrence of fire, and the presence or the absence of smoke or flame on each floor are detected on the basis of fire detection signals from the fire detection devices 20 and image signals photographed by the cameras 21 and, on the basis of the detection results, a rescue operation means 25 determines the rescue floor and performs rescue drive of an elevator car 13.
