Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas insulated switchgear capable of securing insulation performance even when insulation gas is changed from SFto CO.SOLUTION: The gas insulated switchgear includes a puffer type gas circuit breaker 1 which is provided with: a fixed side electrode 4; a movable side electrode 5; a puffer cylinder 6, a puffer chamber 7; a fixed piston 8; a blowing-out port 9 and an insulation nozzle 11 or the like in a ground tank 3 filled with COgas 2. The periphery of a conductor 21 in the ground tank 3 is surrounded by a shield 22 and a space 23 is provided in which hot gas generated in the inside of the shield 22 at the time of interruption is temporarily stayed.
