Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas showing an initial activity and high activity after endurance under an atmospheric variation of oxidation/reduction by using a base metal as one of the active species.SOLUTION: The catalyst for purifying exhaust gas includes the active species consisting of two kinds of Cu and Ag carried by the same carrier particle consisting of at least one oxide, and wherein the ratio of Ag to a total amount of the Cu and Ag is in a range of 30-70 mass%.
