PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing an open air from intruding and a draft from intruding for a mailslot capable of preventing a room temperature from lowering caused by intrusion of the open air and the draft and noises from intruding caused by intrusion of the draft, using an existing mailslot without changing, being installed on various kinds of doors, and being easily installed.SOLUTION: An opening 3 for passing newspaper and mail matter is provided on a body 2, and the dimension of a lid 4 is 5 mm or more wider on all the outer peripheral sides than the outer periphery of the opening 3 for passing the newspaper and the mail matter, and is the same or smaller than the body, and a recess B11 with a surface of an ellipse and a curved shape toward the bottom and with a depth of at least 2 mm is provided on the front face of the lid 4, and the lid 4 is provided on the front face of the body 2, and the body 2 is installed on the outside of the mailslot opening 9.
