SOFTENER FOR SANITARY PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softener for sanitary paper capable of giving good moist feeling, smoothness and softness to sanitary paper under a low-humidity environment and capable of not only giving moist feeling, smoothness and softness to sanitary paper but also suppressing degradation of paper strength under a high-humidity environment.SOLUTION: A softer for sanitary paper comprises (a) 80 to 97 mass% of glycerin; (b) 1 to 10 mass% of diglycerol; (c) 1 to 10 mass% of polyoxyalkylene methyl glucoside and (d) 0.5 to 7 mass% of polyethylene glycol with a weight average molecular weight of 400 to 2000, in which an oxyalkylene group has a carbon number of 2 to 3 and alkylene oxide has an average added molar number of 5 to 30 in the polyoxyalkylene methyl glucoside of the component (c), and in which a total content of the components (a), (b), (c) and (d) is 100 mass%.
