Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in mechanical properties such as piercing strength and preventing short circuits between electrodes, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery and achieving a high level of safety.SOLUTION: A separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is composed of a thermoplastic resin composite containing a thermoplastic resin and a filler, and has a piercing strength of 2.5 N or greater per thickness of 25 μm. The separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery composed of the thermoplastic resin composite containing the thermoplastic resin and the filler is subjected to at least one drawing process at the melting point of the thermoplastic resin or a higher temperature, and then at least one drawing process at a temperature lower than the melting point in the direction of the drawing process at the melting point or the higher temperature. A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises the separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.
