METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAY DEVICE, AND ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device which has high productivity and can perform multicolor display with little tinge of color when observed from an oblique direction.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrophoretic display device includes a step for pasting a laminate film, which is obtained by providing a transparent electrode layer and an electrophoretic display layer formed by fixing microcapsules encapsulating dispersion liquid in which electrophoretic particles are dispersed in a dispersion medium by a binder resin on a transparent base material in this order from a side of the transparent base material, on a substrate having a pixel electrode, and a step for forming a color filter layer corresponding to the pixel electrode on a base material surface of the laminate film. The substrate having the pixel electrode has a region on which the electrophoretic display layer is not disposed, and a pattern for pixel positioning is drawn in the region on which the electrophoretic display layer is not disposed of the substrate having the pixel electrode. In the step for forming the color filter layer, the color filter layer is formed by the pattern for pixel positioning.
