Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a phthalocyanine derivative which ensures a long absorption edge on the long wavelength side, absorbs light in the visible light region, and has an extended absorption wavelength range; a method for producing the phthalocyanine derivative; and a dye-sensitized solar cell.SOLUTION: The phthalocyanine derivative is represented by general formula (I), wherein X1 is an electron donating group having a thiophene skeleton; X4 is an electron withdrawing group; X2 and X3 are each a substituent which is either an electron donating group or an electron withdrawing group; and n is an integer of ≥1 which can be selected independently with respect to X1 to X4.
