MEDIUM DRIVE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium drive device which can be made compact.SOLUTION: A case 10 of the medium drive device includes a main body 11 and a movable body 12 connected slidably to the main body 11. Consequently, the medium drive device can be made compact. A front panel 57 is provided with a hinge part 52, and a stopper 59 is connected to the hinge part 52. The hinge part 52 is fitted with an unillustrated twisted coil spring etc., and the stopper 59 is provided elastically to be energized in a rotating direction (opening direction) from the state in Fig. 7 to the state in Fig. 6. When the stopper 59 is opened, the movable body 12 of the case 10 abuts against the stopper 59 to be restricted from moving toward a reduction position. Consequently, the movable body 12 is prevented from colliding against an optical disk to secure safety of the optical disk or safety of the media disk device in terms of operation.
