PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for modifying music data to make music played by a karaoke device singable.SOLUTION: A singing range is estimated based on singing voice waveform data acquired from a storage part (S130). A pitch range that includes a pitch of a musical sound for forming a guide melody (hereinafter, a guide melody range) is identified within music data acquired from the storage part (S150). A representative value of the guide melody range and a representative value of the singing range are derived, and a modification amount GS is derived based on the representative value of the guide melody range and the representative value of the singing range (S160). A pitch of each musical sound defined in a score track corresponding to a guide melody instrument in the acquired music data is then shifted by the modification amount GS (S170). This generates modified music data with the pitch of each musical sound defined in the score track corresponding to the guide melody instrument shifted by the modification amount GS (i.e., in octaves).
