REMOVABLE FINAL SCRUBBER PIPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enhanced system for exchanging a final scrubber of an inert carrier gas, in details, for inert gas dissolution analyzer.SOLUTION: A final scrubber 15 in an inert carrier gas channel of an elemental analyzer includes a manifold 20 comprising a valve for selectively bypassing a prompt final scrubber housing 30 including a filter pipe and a sealing gas fixture. The housing 30 includes an alignment member and a latch for aligning the housing 30 to the manifold 20 of equipment and fixing it in a sealed engagement state. A switch detects the presence of the housing 30, and a control circuit controls the valve to pass an inert gas flow into the filter pipe or, when the housing 30 is detached, to bypass the filter pipe. The system enables the final scrubber to be speedily removed and exchanged without using any machine tool while a carrier gas continuously flows in a furnace without interception.
