WELDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method that is easy to temporarily join cylindrical members through a joining member while satisfying the quality requirement for the cylindrical members.SOLUTION: This welding method is provided with: a build-up welding step of forming a first built-up portion 21 and a second built-up portion 22 on a third cylinder member 9 and a fourth cylinder member 10 by performing build-up welding, with use of a filler material of a first material, on the third cylinder member 9 and the fourth cylinder member 10 across a beveled portion K5 formed between the third cylinder member 9 and the fourth cylinder member 10 which are made of the first material and butted against each other in the axial direction; and a connecting plate joining step of provisionally joining a connecting plate 35 to the third cylinder member 9 and the fourth cylinder member 10 by joining one end portion of the connecting plate 35 to the first built-up portion 21 via a first doubling plate 25 of a second material, and joining the other end portion of the connecting plate 35 to the second built-up portion 22 via a second doubling plate 26 of the second material.
