Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure insulation between coils of different phase with ease and with sure, relating to an armature for rotary electric machine equipped with the coils of a plurality of phases, wound on an armature core by lap winding.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an armature equipped with a core in which the slots extending axially are distributed along circumferential direction, and a coil wound on the core by lap winding, includes an insulating member enclosing step S2 for enclosing a protruding part at a linear portion by inserting a pair of insulating members between a pair of linear portions of winding coil formed by circulating a linear conductor, a winding coil arrangement step S3 for arranging the winding coil in each slot of the core so that only one insert part among the pair of linear portions is inserted, a coil machining step S4 for collectively applying all winding coils with a process for deforming the protruding part by relatively moving the insert part of the pair of linear portions in circumferential direction, and an insert step S5 for inserting a non-insert part among the winding coils after machining into the slot.
