Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element material having high emission efficiency, low drive voltage, long emission life, and low voltage rise in driving; and to provide an organic electroluminescence element, using the same, a method for manufacturing the same, and an illumination device and a display.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element material contains a compound having N and P, N and Si, P and Si, or P and P, Si and Si on 1,4-positions of one ring of a condensed polycyclic system (at least pentacyclic system) as ring-constituting atoms thereof. Such incorporation of hetero atoms such as P and Si can regulate the charge transport performance, and can exhibit optimal electron and hole charge transportability and injectionability, whereby the material is used as a hole transport material and an electron transport material. Particularly in the case of using the material as a light emission layer, since formation of an exciton and energy transfer to a dopant are efficiently caused, the recombination efficiently occurs, and the deterioration of the organic EL material can be prevented.
