Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying acetic anhydride, which can obtain high-quality acetic anhydride and a method for producing a polyalkylene ether glycol, which can obtain a high-quality polyalkylene ether glycol having little discoloration using purified acetic anhydride obtained by the purification method.SOLUTION: The method for purifying acetic anhydride includes adjusting absorbance of crude acetic anhydride to ≥0.12 by UV spectrum at a measurement wavelength in a region of 300-330 nm, distilling the crude acetic anhydride and separating and recovering purified acetic anhydride.
