Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve energy efficiency of casting by preventing unneeded hydraulic oil pressure from occurring, in a hydraulic pump unit for a casting apparatus actuated by hydraulic pressure and a control method therefor.SOLUTION: The hydraulic pump unit includes: electric motors 61, 62, 63 for individually supplying power to a plurality of hydraulic pumps; a motor rotation speed control means for controlling the rotation speed of each of the electric motors; and a hydraulic pressure circuit for supplying hydraulic oil discharged from each of the hydraulic pumps to the casting apparatus, and relieving hydraulic oil not contributing to the operation of the casting apparatus. An amount of hydraulic oil supplied to the casting apparatus is controlled according to the operation of the casting apparatus.
