APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING COATED WIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing coated wire, which can easily measure an outer diameter of the coated wire in a tube for cross-link, which is cross-linked by using vapor in the tube for cross-link.SOLUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing coated wire comprises: an extruder 2 for forming extrusion coating wire 24 which is produced by extruding resin on a conductor 22 and coating the conductor 22 with the resin to form the extrusion coating layer which coats an outer periphery of the conductor 22; a tube for cross-link 3 in which the extrusion coating wire 24 is inserted and coated wire 21 is formed by cross-linking the extrusion coating layer 24 by using vapor; outer diameter measuring means 4 which has a vapor supply part 13 which is provided on a side face of the tube for cross-link 3 and has a cavity inside thereof that communicates with the tube for cross-link 3, an inspection window 5 which is provided on the opposite side of the tube for cross-link 3 of the vapor supply part 13, and a measuring device 6 which measures the outer diameter of the extrusion coating wire 24 which is inserted in the tube for cross-link 3 through the inspection window 5; and a vapor supply device 7 which continuously purges inside the vapor supply part 13 by using vapor which has pressure higher than that in the tube for cross-link 3.
