PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element in which wiring can be simplified.SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display element adapted to display indication by applying a voltage to electrodes 930 formed on a substrate to control orientation of liquid crystal, the electrodes 930 include an indication electrode 931 having a closed loop shape, a peripheral electrode 933 disposed around the indication electrode 931, and an isolation electrode 932 surrounded by the indication electrode 931. The liquid crystal display element comprises an electrically insulating layer 920 disposed between the electrodes 930 and the substrate and including through holes H1 to H4 which are respectively formed corresponding to the indication electrode 931, the peripheral electrode 933, and the isolation electrode 932, and a wiring layer 910 disposed between the electrically insulating layer 920 and the substrate and including wiring 913 which electrically connects the peripheral electrode 933 with the isolation electrode 932 through the through holes H2, H4.
