PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus by which a measurement position is easily recognized in a stereoscopic image and which can improve measurement accuracy of the measurement position.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: a distance data calculation part 50 to calculate first distance information that is distance information between a subject indicated in an object stereoscopic image S and an imaging unit 22; and an index position calculation part 60 to calculate second distance information that is distance information between a measurement index E and the imaging unit 22. The image processing apparatus also includes: a far/near relation calculation part 63 which calculates far/near relation from the imaging unit 22 of the subject stereoscopic image S and the measurement index E on the basis of the first distance information and the second distance information; and an image processing part 68 which carries out image processing to a state wherein one positioned more closely to the imaging unit 22 in the subject stereoscopic image S and the measurement index E is displayed in a superposed region upon carrying out stereoscopic display processing by a stereoscopic display processing part 40.
