PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of significantly improving the workability when mounting an optical fiber on an optical connector and facilitating assembling work of the optical connector.SOLUTION: A coating removing member that removes, with insertion work of the optical fiber to be mounted, the coating of an optical fiber is incorporated in an optical connector. The coating removing member has such a configuration that a guide part for guiding a coated optical fiber, a coating removing part for removing the coating of the optical fiber and a connecting part for connecting the guide part to the coating removing part are integrally formed. A naked fiber insertion hole of the coating removing part and a coating fiber insertion hole of the guide part are coaxially located, and a separation distance between an extraction end of a coated fiber insertion hole and an insertion end of the naked fiber insertion hole is not less than 0.1 mm and not more than 0.5 mm.
