Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control system for improving responsiveness of phase angle conversion control using an electronic motor at the start of an engine, and stabilizing the control.SOLUTION: A controller sets a target phase angle Q1 advanced by a predetermined angle with respect to a required phase angle Q at cold start of the engine in step 2. After an IGS is turned off, the controller advances a cam shaft phase angle using the electronic motor in step 3. When the IGS is turned on, the controller determines whether or not the current cam shaft reaches a target phase angle Q1 in step 7 when water temperature at the start of the engine in step 6 is not more than a predetermined value, and automatically delay it in step 8 by an alteration torque generated in the cam shaft at the start of cranking. The controller enters normal feedback control after an actual phase angle is detected, and is brought closer to a required phase angle Q at low temperature start. |
