PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording and image capture device for recording data.SOLUTION: The video recording and image capture device for documenting surgical procedures comprises: a main board for executing a plurality of software; a multimedia interface 100 where a video interface 35 is connected on a first bus to the main board, and which receives a video signal and processes it into an MPEG layer stream; a hard drive 50 to record the MPEG layer stream as a file; an optical media drive to write the MPEG layer stream as a file; and a touch screen which is interactive for user control and connected to the main board on a second bus to control the video interface. In addition, the hard drive and the optical media drive are operably connected on the second bus, the bus is vertically stacked, and connected to the main board.
