Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device suppressing color unevenness on a display screen depending on an orientation angle and having high luminance.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a light source 1; a liquid crystal panel 3; a diffusion plate 4 disposed between the light source 1 and the liquid crystal panel 3; a luminance enhancing film 5, which is disposed between the diffusion plate 4 and the liquid crystal panel 3 and includes a resin layer 51 having cholesteric regularity and a quarter-wave plate 52; and an optical element 6 disposed between the liquid crystal panel 3 and the luminance enhancing film 5. A minute region 61 is formed on at least a part of at least one surface 6U of the optical element 6, the minute region having a plurality of slope faces with different normal lines from one another so as to control at least three beams that outgo from the luminance enhancing film 5 with different orientation angles and are incident to the optical element 6, to outgo in the same direction.
