Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for producing a large amount of a coenzyme-linked glucose dehydrogenase having excellent substrate recognizing ability toward glucose and low action on maltose.SOLUTION: There is provided the polynucleotide encoding a soluble coenzyme-linked glucose dehydrogenase, catalyzing a reaction to dehydrogenate glucose in the presence of an electron acceptor, having an amino acid sequence having at least 60% sequence homology to a specific amino acid sequence, having a specific coenzyme-linked glucose dehydrogenase consensus sequence, and exhibiting the following properties (1) to (4): (1) uses flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) as a coenzyme; (2) does not use oxygen as the electron acceptor; (3) has activity toward maltose of 5% or lower based on the activity toward glucose; and (4) catalyzes a reaction to oxidize 1-hydroxy group of glucose and convert glucose to glucono-δ-lactone.
