Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color wheel unit capable of favorably detecting a rotation reference position of a color wheel.SOLUTION: A color wheel unit 300 includes: a color wheel 310 in which a plurality of segments with different colors are aligned in the rotating direction; a motor 320 for rotating the color wheel 310; an annular marker tape 324 disposed coaxially with the rotating shaft of the color wheel 310 and rotating along with the color wheel 310; and a position sensor 330 that is disposed facing the marker tape 324 and detects the rotation reference position of the color wheel 310 based on the light quantity of light reflected by the marker tape 324. The marker tape 324 is integrally provided with a marker portion 324a for determining the rotation reference position, and a non-marker portion 324b having a different reflectivity from that of the marker portion 324b.
