TETRAZOLE COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having a GPR40 agonist action useful for an active principle of a medicinal composition, for example, an insulin secretion accelerator and preventive drugs and therapeutic drugs of diabetes.SOLUTION: As a result of exhaustive studies on a compound having a GPR40 agonist action, the present inventors have found that the compound (I), in which a tetrazole group is bonded to a di- or tricyclic moiety through a methylene group, or benzene replaced with a 6-membered monocyclic aromatic ring is bonded to a di- or tricyclic moiety through -O-methylene or -NH-methylene, or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt has an excellent GPR40 agonist activity. It is also found that the compound has an excellent insulin secretion acceleration action, and strongly suppresses a rise in the blood sugar after sugar tolerance.
