FLEXIBLE HEATER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible heater and a method of manufacture thereof which implement satisfactory heat resistance and satisfactory terminal section strength.SOLUTION: A flexible heater 2 comprises: a base member 10; a heating element circuit 12 formed on a thermally fusible polyimide surface layer of the base member 10; a heating element circuit cover member 14 covering the heating element circuit 12; and a pair of lead wires 17 and 17 connected to a pair of connection ends 12a and 12a of the heating element circuit 12. The heating element circuit cover member 14 has openings 14a and 14a that do not cover the connection ends 12a and 12a and their vicinities, and the connection ends 12a and 12a and their vicinities, and portions of the lead wires 17 and 17 positioned on the base member 10 are covered via a heat-resistant adhesive 20 with an end cover member 22 formed separately from the heating element circuit cover member 14 and comprising a multilayer polyimide film having a thermally fusible polyimide surface layer on at least one surface.
