ORGANIC LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting diode display device where a current density can be reduced by reducing a peak value of a driving current of an organic EL element without using a driving transistor, and to provide a driving method thereof.SOLUTION: The organic light-emitting diode display device includes: a pixel circuit 50 including a selection transistor 51 having a data line 31 connected to a source terminal thereof and having a gate line 21 connected to a gate terminal thereof, an organic EL element 52 having an anode connected to a drain terminal of the selection transistor and having a cathode connected to a fixed-potential electrode, and a capacitor 53 having one end connected to a connection point between the drain terminal and the anode; an emission control line 41 connected to the other end of the capacitor 53; and an emission control line driving circuit 40 which holds a potential of the emission control line 41 at a value lower than a threshold potential of the organic EL element 52 for a period when the selection transistor 51 is turned on, and raises the potential up to a prescribed potential in one vertical period after turning-off of the selection transistor 51.
