Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clearly represent the sequence of individual slubs on a fancy yarn.SOLUTION: According to a method for characterizing a fancy yarn (9), at least one characteristic of the fancy yarn is scanned along the longitudinal direction (x) of the fancy yarn. Values of the scanning are evaluated, and results of the evaluation are outputted. At least one result of the evaluation is outputted in the form of a graphic representation. The graphic representation is a column chart or a bar graph, in which columns or bars are allocated to slubs (92) on the fancy yarn and are each composed of at least two elements. The length or area of a first element indicates a characteristic (L) of each slub (92), and the length or area of a second element indicates a characteristic (L) of an adjacent base yarn (91).
