SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS AND SHEET PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically obtain a good-looking bound article folded such that a second folding position will coincide with a position corresponding to half the sheet width of size excluding any cut width and binding margin, by easy operation of a user.SOLUTION: In a sheet processing apparatus having functions of a Z-folding process, a cutting process and a binding process, for sheets, when the Z-folding process, the cutting process and the binding process are performed in combination, it is set so that a first fold line from the free end of the sheet will fall on the position corresponding to the size of half a value obtained by subtracting a cut amount 702 and a binding margin 701 specified by the user from the sheet size 906. Thus, Z-folding is executed by controlling so that the size resulting from addition of the cut amount to the size of half the value obtained by subtracting a cutting position 702 and the binding margin 701 specified by the user from the sheet size 906 will correspond to the distance of the first fold line to be made from the free end of the sheet before cutting.
