Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device for installing a cover slide even when a shift lever has a plurality of large-small diameters.SOLUTION: In this shift lever device, long holes 22 and 32 for inserting the shift lever 10 are respectively formed in first and second cover slides 20 and 30 for cooperatively blocking up an upper guide hole 5 for guiding operation of the shift lever 10, and when operating the shift lever 10, one of the first and second cover slides 20 and 30 moves in response to the movement of the shift lever 10, and the other allows the movement of the shift lever 10 in the long hole formed in itself. In the shift lever device, installation holes 23 and 33 continuing with the long holes 22 and 32 and having a diameter larger than a width of the long holes 22 and 32, are arranged in the respective first and second cover slides 20 and 30.
