PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce retrieval time in retrieval using an image displayed as an image of a communication partner in a television telephone.SOLUTION: An image retrieval device 10 includes: an image database 11 for storing an image of a retrieval object in association with information corresponding to a communication partner of a television telephone; an input unit 12 for inputting information corresponding to the communication partner of the television telephone and an image displayed on the television telephone; a retrieval object determination unit 13 for determining an image stored in the image database 11 in association with the input information corresponding to the communication partner as a retrieval object; a retrieval unit 14 for retrieving an image similar to the input image from images determined as retrieval objects; and an output unit 15 for performing output depending on the retrieval.
