Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical joint capable of resisting against tensile force applied to a reinforcing-bar by a spring inserted into a sleeve, easy to manufacture, and high in strength.SOLUTION: A mechanical joint 1 for joining two reinforcing-bars has a cylindrical sleeve 2, in which a through-hole 21 with both ends opened is formed, and a spring 3 having elastic force and spirally winding a linear member. The sleeve 2 is reduced in diameter by plastic deformation in a state where the spring 3 inserted into the through-hole 21 abuts with an inner wall of the through-hole 21. The sleeve 2 is reduced in diameter so that the spring 3 is elastically deformed in the axial and radial directions and is in press contact with the inner wall of the through-hole 21 of the sleeve 2. Two reinforcing-bars are inserted into the inner periphery of the spring 3 which is in press contact with the through-hole 21 and the inside of the through-hole 21 is filled with a filler so that the two reinforcing-bars are joined together.
